History of Hip-Hop Music- Live Music and Dance Performance by MUSIC dance.edu

Wednesday, June 301:30—2:30 PMFront LawnBigelow Free Public Library54 Walnut St., Clinton, MA, 01510

Hip-hop music, which was born from the black, brown and Latino communities of Bronx New York in the 1970’s and 1980’s has since become the dominate turn-of-the-century pop music form and has revolutionized world-wide musical and fashion culture.

MUSIC Dance.edu will be appearing at the Bigelow library for a live musical demonstration of the history of hip-hop. MUSIC Dance.edu is a non-profit organization which offers performing arts opportunities and music education to New England residents. Our children performers range in age from 6 to 11 years. During this presentation the children play musical instruments; trumpet, flute, clarinet, trombone, bells, drum pads, and hip hop dance. The presentation is guided by narration which includes jazz and hip hop history facts. Our musical selections range from clean cut version hip hop songs, Michael Jackson, and some oldies but goodies like Moon River, Theme from the Godfather, and The Theme from Star Trek. The performance is upbeat, educational, and energetic!

The presentation includes audience participation with the Cha Cha Slide, Watch Me Whip, and The Hokey Pokey

This live performance will take place on the library front lawn. No registration required.
