Intro to Mushrooming with Mrs. G

Rachel Goclawski (or Mrs. G) will take us through how to begin mushrooming, focusing on mushrooming safety, beginner-friendly mushrooms and identification, and how to collect and prepare. We'll also talk about foraging ethics and identification techniques, along with species to avoid. Specimens will be on display for a hands-on experience.
Rachel Goclawski, Forager and Certified educator, State-Certified in Mushrooming, is a Programmer for The Museum of Natural History, Sudbury Valley Trustees, New England Botanic Garden and other organizations. She is a contributing writer for The Cook's Cook: Now, Forager Magazine and has been featured in The Boston Globe, WBZ, Edible Worcester and Baystate Parent magazines, other news, documentaries and print. Rachel comes from a long line of foragers, including her great-grandfather, Arthur W. Fairbanks, one of the founders of the Boston Mycological Club back in the late 1800's.
