Historical lecturer Gregory Williams will take you on a virtual tour of hell on Zoom. Explore the early Middle Eastern and ancient Egyptian notions of the underworld; the medieval hellmouth; and many of the artists who have created our favorite renditions of Hell, including Dante, van Eyck, Bosch, Signorelli, Milton, John Martin, Dore, and more. Williams was a District Court judge for many years, retiring as the First Justice of the Edgartown District Court on the Cape in 2015.
