A winding pathway through an atrium filled with flowers, koi fish, and quail allows visitors to walk among butterflies from all over the world. Staff members are available for questions and “show and tell” demonstrations. A continuously running video explains the butterfly life cycle, and exhibits enable visitors to observe eggs, caterpillars, cocoons and chrysalides with information about each species. A gift shop is on the premises. There is a public picnic area and free parking is available.

- Pass offers one free general admission ticket. Children 2 and under are free.

- Hours of Operation: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Valentine's Day through Columbus Day). The Butterfly Place is closed on Easter Sunday and July 4th.

- Message from the Butterfly Place: You do not need to purchase tickets ahead of time or make a reservation unless you have 15 or more people. Ticket sales end at 3:30 PM, and no new customers will be admitted into the exhibits after 3:30 PM. We suggest you arrive no later than 3:00 PM. To really enjoy our butterflies, plan to spend at least an hour.

- Please note: You MUST bring the physical coupon to the Butterfly Place when you visit. The email reservation will NOT be accepted for free admission.

Davis Farmland is a seven-generation, working family farm, continuously in operation since 1846 in Sterling, MA. Starting in 1996, Davis Farmland has provided opportunities for discovery and play to families with children 12 years old and younger. It has a Waterspray Park; Imagine-Acres; Adventureland; interactions with farm animals; and a “Mega Maze” in the fall. It is also home to the largest sanctuary of endangered farm animals in North America. Special events include hands-on reptile shows. Hours change with the season. This pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount on tickets to the Museum’s Exhibit Halls. Children under 3 are not included in the count of 4 and are always admitted for free but must have a timed ticket.

Your Library pass can only be used on the date printed on the pass.

YOU MUST ALSO CALL THE MUSEUM TO RESERVE A TIMED TICKET. Call 617-723-2500 (daily, 9am – 5pm). Please call at least 2-3 days ahead to reserve your time slot otherwise the Museum might be fully booked.

After you make your timed reservation with the Museum, they will send you an email confirmation with your reservation time.

Please bring both your library pass confirmation (printed or displayed on a phone) and your email confirmation from the Museum when you visit. Show both confirmations at the gate to enter. You do not need to stop at the Box Office.

If you are unable to show your Library confirmation on a phone, you may print out a copy using the link in the confirmation email or request a paper copy from the library.

The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins.
